My Wardrobe: Part 1

Each week I'm going to pick one of my favourite Vintage items to post on here. I'm personally always fascinated by other people's collections so I hope some of you enjoy mine.
This week is dedicated to my first 1940's dress that I owned.
Typically at first I was in love with the 1950s so I already had a few 1950's frocks but I find owning a 1940s piece totally different. Just the amount of history one dress can contain is wonderful..
I got this darling from Prim Vintage Fashion in Norwich, it's really one of my favourite shops. I absolutely love visiting the shop because the owners are so knowledgeable and helpful. Not also to mention that the pieces in their shop are divine. The reason I got this dress was to wear at a Pageant I entered at Twinwood Festival. I wanted to go for a authentic 1940s look and I found this dress perfect, I was convinced by the small details that makes the dress so classically beautiful!

Beautiful scalloping detail.

The dress is of course delicate but is in lovely condition .

Me in my dress at Twinwood Festival Miss Vintage Glamour Pageant with two very lovely contestants. This dress now holds many other memories!

Hair Diary

I do not feel complete without my hair styled and I love to experiment with my curls (as you may know already). Here are a few images from the past couple of weeks of some of my favourite styles. To me these styles are so easy to create and can differ by roller size. I believe practise really does make perfect so you can see what I like to do in my spare time..

Brushed Curls. Here is a style I love but sometimes it can go wrong! I create this style with medium size rollers and as in description I brush the curls out after. I find this style at times to be trail and error but I think I have mastered this now.

A rare occasion of me with straight hair, I dislike having straight hair personally so if it's a 'lazy' day I will jazz it up with a pretty flower. Or like above but you can't see, I actually added a pin curl to the front :)

The headscarve! I love this 1940s 'landgirl' look. This is what i wear to bed  to protect my hair.

This style is inspired by Betty Grable. This consists of brushed out curls  with the front middle section of my hair rolled up.

Midi tight curled bob. Achieved by using small rollers left in for as long as possible!

A new style for me that I have finally mastered. Basically it's my hair tucked underneath, the hair has to be curled first for it to be rolled underneath perfectly. I love this style as it looks very sleek and people when i'm out seem to really like it too! Practise makes perfect with this one and once you know how it will be worth it!

Finally very lose curls, made from large rollers and gently brushed. These curls are easy to play with yet  it can look effortlessly glam.

DollyDagger Model Search 2012.

I have just realised how quickly time flies, my last post on here was quite a while ago!
Finally I have some time off work, therefore I will be posting more frequently.
I thought I would start off with a competition I have entered for DollyDagger's Model Search for 2012. After entering and being a finalist in Miss Twinwood, I now have confidence to enter more competitions. I now have less than a week to go to get as many votes as I can. The final top 8 get a £50 gift voucher for DollyDagger with a winner being picked by a panal of judges.

Here is my entry
If you would like to vote for me, all you have to do is 'Like' this image here: here

I thought I would also show one of my images that I have used! I did a photoshoot a couple of weeks ago and this was my 'rocky' look. :)

Until next time

Tea & Dresses

This past week I had a wonderful start by buying some beautiful dresses & enjoying the most divine Tea! On Monday with my darling friend Anne, we went on a trip to Norwich and discovered the most wonderful Vintage Tea Room called 'Biddy's Tea Room' situated in the Lanes of the City. The whole tea room is decorated in gorgeous vintage cutlery and other cute trinklets with music playing in the background..you really feel like you're in the 1940s. The menu has the most delicious looking cakes and every type of tea you could think of. Me and Anne decided to Lunch on the Afternoon Tea!

Afternoon Tea, containing: Finger Sandwiches, Crips with homemade coleslaw,  Scones with clotted cream & Jam. Plus a Pot of Tea.

Delicious Pot of tea, with the most lovely vintage teacups.

Anne enjoying her tea!

Me with my cuppa.

Here is me in a dress from H&M. I really love them at the moment with the Lana Del Rey pieces. This dress was just £19.99 and i just love how it fits my figure.

Dress from Topshop £38. I could not resist this cutey.
