It's in the eyes

This week I have been experimenting more with eye make up, particularly with eyeliner. I have always been quite cautious of what make up I wear around my eyes, as I worry that it may not flatter! 

As Elizabeth Taylor is one of my style icons and an utter goddess, I took inspiration from her stunning eyes.

Beautiful outlined eyes.

This is my take on the style:

For this I used a black liquid eyeliner by MAC. 

I started by the top inner corner of my eyelid and slowly flicking out towards the brow line. 

I then faintly started on the outer corner of the bottom lid and went inwards - as close to the lash line as possible! To join the two, connect the two inner and outer corners together, which i have done on the bottom picture! 

Tip: White eyeliner along the waterline helps to widen and brighten the eyes.

Lately I have been getting questions about my eyebrows. I'm always trying to aim for perfection with my brows and that's still something I'm trying to do! My eyebrows are naturally very light and thick so once a week I pluck them to keep them neat and free from strays! I shape and fill my brows in with an eyebrow pencil by Max Factor, I always start from the inner corner and work outwards. I always follow my natural eyebrow shape but exaggerate my arch with a slight point! When I do find the perfect product for my eyebrows I do promise to make a tutorial!

Feeling Glam in Winter

Hello loves! This snowy and very cold weather, has finally given me an excuse to blog about one of my many coats! As a Vintage lovin' girl I'm a fan of Fur Coats, yes they keep you very warm but they just look so glamorous also! 

This Coat is one of two that my Grandma's friend kindly gave to me, as they once belonged to her Mother. I find it so flattering when I get given such gifts that have been passed down through generations - I plan to do the same. I was told that both Coats had been hand made in India and date back to the 1930s! 

I wanted to wear something dainty with this coat today so I picked a Vintage inspired lace dress from Topshop.

The Lipstick I'm wearing is shade 'Chili' by Max Factor.

Happy 2013!

Hello sweethearts. I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas & New Year spent with your loved ones! I apologise for the lack of posting the last few weeks of December, I had come down quite ill a couple of times but thankfully I'm much better now. 

I'm excited for this new year - I have a few plans in place and I'm going to make this year the best yet!

Three new wonderful books that I'm so delighted with. Elizabeth Taylor, Vintage Style and Marilyn Monroe 50 Year Anniversary Book. The Vintage Style is excellent as it focuses on different Icons & how to achieve their looks!
